ADO Den Haag will play with Matchis on the chest of its yellow-green shirt this Thursday against PSV. The Matchis Foundation is the Dutch center for stem-cell donors. This way, ADO Den Haag would like to contribute to keeping attention on this foundation and to recruit as many stem-cell donors as possible. The initiative of the PSV press secretary Thijs Slegers has moved us all deeply and we are looking to raise more awareness to that cause, specifically in this match against PSV.

The Matchis Foundation ensures that patients with leukemia and other blood disorders who have to undergo a stem-cell transplant receive a donor as soon as possible. This is vital for those who need a transplant. As a stem-cell donor you can save lives! As a result of the earlier campaigns initiated by Thijs and PSV, more than 8,000 stem-cell donors have already registered. This shows the power and connection that football has.

The cause for this action is of course unfortunate, but thanks to the attention generated, many patients can be helped in the future. We want to do everything we can to keep the attention going! ADO Den Haag has realized this initiative together with main partner Hommerson Casino, which is giving up the shirt position for this promotion. Remco van den Berg, director of Hommerson Casino: "Of course we support this initiative by relinquishing our shirt position. There cannot be enough attention for recruiting new donors and thus giving patients with blood cancer a chance for a cure."

The shirts in which ADO Den Haag will play these quarterfinals of the TOTO KNVB Cup will be auctioned after the match via MatchWornShirt. It goes without saying that these proceeds will be donated entirely to the Matchis foundation. Supporters can bid on these shirts after the match via matchwornshirt.com. Bidding can be done untill Wednesday 8 March 20:00.
